A site built around length of stay: three rates per apartment, a calculator that quotes a real stay, everything that is handled in writing, and the enquiry direct to you instead of through a listing site's commission.

What it replaced
Every line here was a job somebody was doing by hand, every month. That is the whole point of the project.

- 180 students and 7 coaches were being run on Excel sheets, paper registers and WhatsApp groups.
- Fees lived in a single spreadsheet with fifteen columns, reconciled against UPI screenshots and cash by memory.
- Coaches opened each student's online chess profile one at a time to check whether homework had actually been done.
- The academy's website had promised monthly progress reports for years. Nobody had the time to write them, so they were written from memory when someone found a spare hour — or not at all.
- Coach salaries were calculated by hand at the end of every month, and there was no reliable record of which student missed which class or what the academy owed them for it.
What was built
- 01
Enrolment and daily operations
Admin sets up programs, batches and coaches; students enrol into a batch. Classes generate automatically from each batch's weekly schedule instead of being typed in one at a time.

Attendance that cannot be skipped
A coach cannot mark a class complete until attendance is recorded for every enrolled student. That one constraint is what makes every payroll and attendance number downstream trustworthy.

Fees, invoicing and a class-credit ledger
Parents pay through Razorpay or the admin records cash. Either way a real invoice is raised in the academy's own Zoho Books account, on their template and their tax settings.

Eight credits a month, tracked
Each paid month grants 8 class credits and each class held consumes one. Joining mid-month bills pro rata on the class days actually remaining. Every credit added or consumed is a row with a reason and a running balance, so a disputed fee is traced instead of argued about.

Missed classes
Miss an online class and that session's recording unlocks for that student. Miss an offline one and a compensation class is scheduled and tracked to completion. Neither costs the family a credit — the academy promises eight classes a month and this is how that promise is kept without a conversation.

Coach payroll
Part-timers are paid per class at a rate set on the batch, so the same coach earns one amount for a beginner group and another for an advanced one-to-one. Pay follows whoever actually taught the class, so a substitute is paid correctly.

How it holds together
For the reader who wants to know whether it is real.
Tenant isolation at the database layer
Every scoped table carries an academy id, and isolation is applied by an ORM-level filter driven from the authenticated user's token — not by remembering to add a WHERE clause to each query. Missing tenant context throws rather than falling through to “return everything”.
Money paths that cannot lose a payment
Invoicing runs after the payment transaction commits, on a background thread, so a slow or broken accounting API can never delay or fail a customer's checkout. It is idempotent at two levels — an in-transaction check and a database constraint — so a retry cannot produce a duplicate invoice.
Failures that surface instead of vanishing
A failed invoice is recorded against the order and retryable from the admin screen rather than disappearing into a log file. Payments sync both ways: Razorpay updates our records, a webhook covers payments entered directly in the accounting system, and a scheduled reconciliation job catches anything a dropped webhook missed.
Nothing trusted from the browser
Payment signatures are verified server-side. No amount and no order status is ever taken on the client's word.

Who am I actually working with?
Two people. Shivaji writes all the code and runs the hosting. Santhip Sengotivel handles first contact, meetings and everything after launch. There is no sales team and no junior doing the work behind us.
How much work have you done?
One platform live in production, and it is a large one: the management system that runs Sathuranga Chanakyan Chess Academy in Kolathur — 180 students, 7 coaches, enrolment, attendance, online fees with real invoices in the academy's own accounting system, coach payroll, and a monthly progress report for every parent. Around 50,000 lines, 164 automated tests, in daily use since June 2026, at sathurangachanakyan.com. Beyond that there are three demo sites you can open and click through, one per trade we work in. They are demonstrations rather than client projects, and every page of them says so.
Is that academy system something I could have?
Yes, and it is the highest-value thing we build. Yours would not be a copy — one client's codebase never becomes another's — but every part of it has been built once already, which is why an academy build is three to six weeks rather than six months. What it costs depends on how much of it you need, so we scope it on a call before quoting.
Do I have to pay before I see anything?
No. There are three finished demos on this site you can click through right now. And we will usually build a page for your own business before you have paid anything — you see the link first, and the 50% advance only comes up once you have seen it and want the real thing.
How long does it take?
A one-pager is live in 48 hours. Five pages take about a week. A ten-page site with bookings takes two to three weeks. An academy system takes three to six weeks.
Who owns the domain, the code and the site?
You do. The domain is registered in your name. The code is yours. We do not reuse one client's codebase for another client, ever.
What if I already have a website?
Send us the link. If it only needs fixing, we will say so and it will cost you less than a rebuild. If it is beyond fixing, we will say that too.
Do I need the care plan?
Only if you have changes every month — new batches, new rates, new offers. If your site will sit unchanged for a year, skip it and pay us by the hour when you need something.
Where are you based, and does it matter where I am?
We are in Chennai, so that is where we can meet you face to face. Beyond that it makes no difference where you are. Almost all of a project happens on WhatsApp and calls — you send content and photos, we send links — and nothing about that needs us in the same room, or the same city, or the same country. Prices on this page are in rupees; if you need to pay another way, ask.
